Steps of the Corrective Action Plan Flowchart - Department Level

Step 1. Misallocated position is identified internally by a department.

Step 2. Is the misallocation correctable within sixty days from when it was first identified?

IF YES: Path A

  • A1. Department develops a Corrective Action Plan using CalHR-771 form.
  • A2. Department obtains internal approval on Corrective Action Plan from in-house appointing authority.
  • A3. Department successfully implements Corrective Action Plan within 60 days of first identifying position as misallocated.
  • A4. Department retains Corrective Action Plan form internally for four years for Human Resources Quality Review purposes.

IF NO: Path B

  • B1. Department develops a Corrective Action Plan using CalHR-771 form.
  • B2. Department submits Corrective Action Plan to CalHR Personnel Management Division (PMD) within 60 days of first idenifying the position as misallocated.
  • B3. Department continues corrective process starting with Step B1 of Section 360 - Attachment 2: Corrective Action Plan Flowchart - PMD Level.
